30 Days of The West Wing: Day 8
Your favourite Sorkin episode: Celestial Navigation

While 20 Hours in America is resolutely my favourite, I opted not to be repetitive here and went to my impressive runner up. I think it’s almost a rite of passage for any West Wing fan that you will have watched this episode more times than you can count! Celestial Navigation is packed full of fantastic dialogue, amusing farce and a compelling subplot regarding the wrongful and racist arrest of Judge Mendoza. Every character is played to perfect pitch, with CJ providing the root canal comedy, Josh’s secret plan to fight inflation, a very frustrated Toby, Donna proving to be Josh’s loyal sidekick, Sam and celestial navigation… then you’ve got the cranky President and Leo trying to juggle with the events of the day between all of them!

It’s always the most fun to watch — and one that I can’t wait to watch with other people because even when one of the other guys is watching it and quoting it, you get sucked in! Having Josh’s commentary on the events of the day narrating everything, tying it all together is a happy bonus too! The only problem this episode might suffer is that we’ve all watched it too many times!

I LOVE this episode.

Watching No Country For Old Men and then Collateral.

Anton Chigurh and Vincent are some bad ass mofos.

Does anyone else turn to a pile of goo when she does this?!

YES. She has no idea what she’s doing when she does that. My fave is when she does it in “Rashomama”. She looks so damn good in season 6.

I HATE that not that many people know about the greatness that is “The Wire”

So glad I decided to check out HBO OnDemand out of sheer boredom and discover this gem 6 years ago!

“”Sheeeeit, that nigga got more bodies on him than a Chinese cemetery.”

You know, upon a second viewing, season 2 of The Wire isn’t THAT bad.

It’s almost 2 a.m. and I’m up watching Season 2 of The West Wing. Still geeking out over Thursday’s Parks and Recreation episode. If you didn’t get the “Pillner for Pawnee” framed napkin, “We play with live ammo around here.”, or Ron Swanson mentioning crackpots, then you my friend…. need to find a source, whether it’s online or DVDs, and watch one of the best shows ever, The West Wing. At least the first four seasons anyway ;)

No one emotionally prepared me for this episode.

One of my favorite episodes ever of any show. The scene where it shows what really happens to Josh and him losing it to Yo Yo Ma playing Bach is one of the most moving  and beautiful television scenes I’ve ever seen.
